Heavenly Father, we gather today in the name of Jesus our Lord, who through his death, burial and resurrection have redeemed us to be a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to You, that we might proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called us out of darkness into Your marvelous light.
Just as you declared “let light shine out of darkness” you have shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
And so we gather—with thanksgiving, with joy, with the desire to honor Christ as Savior and Lord.
Lord Jesus, the words that You have spoken are spirit and life.
Holy Spirit, embed the word of Christ deep in our hearts and cause it to dwell richly as we lift our voices together in song.
Let the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, our rock and our redeemer.
