What Do You Mean by Theologically Rich & Singable?

Theologically Rich

The essence of worship is the enjoyment of the glory of God. To that end, worship songs should lead the church to set their minds and affections on who God is and what he has done. The central expression of which is Jesus and his gospel – the birth, death, burial, resurrection, and future return. My aim is to write songs that center on these biblical truths, so that the word of Christ may dwell richly among us when we sing. Soli Deo Gloria.

Singable

The goal here is accessibility. Worship belongs to the congregation, not just to the most talented musicians in the room. My goal is to write songs that can be easily learned and sung by average people. The melody should be simple, within a range that most people can sing, and easily learnable. Musically, I aim to write songs that work both in small or large settings, with a large team of musicians or a single guitar or piano.

…that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
