Call to Worship from Psalm 66

Come and see what God has done:
he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
Come and hear, all you who fear God,
and I will tell what he has done for my soul.

(Psalm 66:5, 16 ESV)

Exhortation:
Here, the Psalmist is calling us to see and hear what God has done – to open our eyes and ears that we would not be dull of hearing or blind to the workings of God.
“Come and see what God has done”
“Come hear and I’ll tell you what he’s done.”

We need these reminders so that we don’t lose our sense of the greatness—the expansive scope—of the gospel. And so we gather today to with fresh ears and eyes to examine the workings of God – to marvel at the richness of the gospel—to consider the multitude of God’s works in redeeming a people for himself, and ultimately (as the Psalmist does) to tell others what God has done for us.

To that end, let’s stand and sing together.
